Tim Milne from the much loved defunked/refunked [Artomatic](http://artomatic.co.uk/?ref=protein.xyz) has been quietly scheming a rather nice direct mail concept called [Matter](http://matterbox.co.uk/?ref=protein.xyz). Described as “a new and unique idea in communications that brings companies and people together around real, physical stuff‚Äìthings you can hold in your hands, keep in your drawer, or give to your friends. It’s a new way for companies to introduce themselves by giving you something you might like.”

I was tipped off about it a while ago by the all seeing [Mr Gower](http://www.charliegower.typepad.com/?ref=protein.xyz) \[who has a good interview with the man [here](http://charliegower.typepad.com/tantramar/2007/12/matter.html?ref=protein.xyz)\], but it is now ready for action with the first boxes being sent out this weekend.
