Phil Bosua makes a good point in his Kickstarter video— the lightbulb really hasn't grown much since its creation. Bosua wants to change that with [LIFX](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/limemouse/lifx-the-light-bulb-reinvented?ref=protein.xyz), "a WiFi enabled, multi-color, energy efficient LED light bulb that you control with your iPhone or Android."

Assuming LIFX bulbs last long enough to justify their price tag (one for $69, ten for $490, with some tiers in between) we love Bosua's idea, and not just because it reminds us so much of our very own [Chromo](http://www.prote.in/chromo?ref=protein.xyz). And we're not the only ones who are seriously rethinking the lighting in our homes and offices. LIFX's Kickstarter goal was $100,000\. With 51 days to go, there's already $1.3 million pledged.

So kudos for LIFX for such a 'bright idea'. Now that light bulbs have made a significant advancement, maybe light-bulb wordplay will be next.
