We’ve seen a considerable rise in wearable technology over the last year, and now Paris-based [Netatmo](http://www.netatmo.com/?ref=protein.xyz) has released the first bracelet designed to combat sun damage.

Dubbed [June](http://www.netatmo.com/en-US/product/june?ref=protein.xyz), the bracelet complements the company’s pre-existing weather station and thermostat apps, and consists of a multifaceted geometric ‘jewel’ with a light sensor and companion smartphone app. The jewel measures sun exposure throughout the day, and then provides personalised skin protection advice through the app. By recommending which SPF to apply or whether a hat, sunglasses or shade should be worn, the device aims to help the user avoid sunburn and premature ageing of the skin.

It’s also versatile, and can be worn around the wrist as a bracelet, or be used as a brooch but June’s biggest attraction though, is its incorporation of fashion – something that, for the most part, has been lacking in wearable technology to date (Kwamecorp’s [B](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/10/bond?ref=protein.xyz)[ond](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/10/bond?ref=protein.xyz) necklace/bracelet is a notable exception to this rule).

Perhaps serving as an indicator for the rise of wearable technology taking a much more fashionable direction.
