Our friend Nik Roope, co-founder and creative director of Hulger, has designed theworld's first designer low energy lightbulband it looks awesome. We're all used to the traditional boring screw bulb and probably don't think twice about it - instead focusing on fancy shades and lamps. Nik's Plumen 001 design, which he developed with designer Sam Wilkinson changes how we feel about bulbs for sure. The name Plumen comes from 'plume', the bird's decorative feather used to attract attention to its prowess and beauty. Besides looking good, the Plumen bulb uses 80% less energy and lasts 8 times longer than incandescent bulbs making it much more ecologically friendly than regular bulbs. When dangling from a regular wire (like in the photo above) the bulb can swirl around like a mini-pretzel - pretty special. Definitely time to light up with the Plumen 001!
