I hate TV ads, except thegoodones of course. However, I might be more open to not hit mute/change channel if the ads were more relevant to me and tell me about Apple Store discounts, new  Pointer ranges or places to go on crazy new adventures. Even though I don't have Sky [when are you going to hook me up Julian?!] I would consider signing up if they launch their new ad tailoring service to individual households. Using demographic data generated by households opting in to receive targeted advertising, Sky would be able to push toy ads to families, or beauty products to young women. The ads would be swapped into programme breaks from a vault of ads stored on the Sky Plus PVR box. It's one step closer to a Google TV Adwords type system and the media agencies seem keen. MediaCom's head of broadcast implementation Rhys McLachlan said: ‚ÄòIt would make us re-evaluate the TV trading mechanics. We would need to be able to measure the impacts. But we only pay for the eyeballs we get so we are all in favour of making TV sharp and accountable.' Where do I signup?
