Our good friends at onedotzero are returning to London this weekend to begin a new residency at the BFI Southbank, showcasing the "brightest up-and-coming talents alongside world-leading creative luminaries and bringing together the most innovative short films, animation, motion graphics, music videos, groundbreaking feature film  previews with director Q+As, alongside interactive installations, explosive live audiovisual and music performances, artist discussions, hands-on toy-hacking workshops and parties." Not much then. Highlights of this year's event include two one-night-only live audiovisual events at the BFI IMAX: an exclusive collaboration between Nitin Sawhney, one of the UK's most innovative musicians, and Es Devlin, renowned stage designer who has worked with Carmen to Kanye West, and an AV triple-bill, featuring The Light Surgeons, D-Fuse and Hexstatic. This year's festival is underpinned by the theme "citystates", a creative inquiry into the idea of how we live in the modern metropolis. Installations, screenings and live performances showcase artist's, designer's and director's interpretations of the city and how we inhabit it. Good.
