Maharishi has teamed up with B&W to release some bad boy limited edition 601 DPM speakers.
Some hype, "Any DJ or serious music head knows the name B&W is a byword for excellence in loudspeakers. Established in 1966, the British-based company has built up a strong reputation for quality. Now, with the addition of DPM camouflage, the B&W 601 speaker has an intriguing new look.In keeping with the theory described in the DPM book, the camouflage used on the B&W speaker incorporates bonsai trees and dragons and is more reminiscent of nature and art than war. Known as "Bonsai Forest", it is the DPM house camouflage pattern and appears on the speaker in a snow terrain colourway."
The speaker itself is a compact bookshelf/stand-mount speaker that combinesa 165mm (6 1/2-in) woven Kevlar cone bass/midrange driver with a Nautilus tube-loaded metal dome tweeter. The cabinet features extra internal bracing for reduced colouration. The speaker also features B&W's Flowport technology that uses golf-ball-style dimples to improve air-flow in the reflex ports. This ensures clean bass with good attack that remains more consistent with level compared to simpler designs. Price per pair: £275
