Liberty Ross will feature in a live, interactive photo shoot that will be broadcast on SHOWstudio at the beginning of June. Inspired by the live, pornographic video chats widely available on the web, the model is the focus of a free ‘feature show’ for which there will be live video feed. Effectively, it will act as SHOWstudio’s interactive ‘collections story’ for the Autumn/Winter ’05-6 season. SHOWstudio viewers will have a chance to dress Liberty, acting as her ‘virtual stylist’ in turns. Stylist Jonathan Kaye will select the clothing from collections and it is our plan to let viewers familiarise themselves with the chosen garments in advance of the event. This first aspect of dressing the model will be balanced against a second part where Nick Knight will slowly undress the model, photographing the gradual ‘unravelment’ of outfits ‘on the round’, using a turntable. The production of this project will be supported with additional project elements including a video diary authored by Liberty, source material from Jonathan, films documenting Liberty ‘on set’ over the past five years and commissions that focus on the pornographic genre that inspire the piece. http://www.showstudio.com/projects/dressmeupdressmedown/ /////////////// Biography Liberty Ross is among the fashion industry's foremost models. Born in 1978 in Los Angeles, USA her family came from and eventually returned to the UK. Their background claims both meritocratic and aristocratic features as her father is Ian Ross, co-founder of the 1960s pirate station Radio Caroline, and founder of ‘Flipper’s’, the first roller disco in Los Angeles launched in the 1980s, and her grandfather is Lord Killearn. Ross did some child modelling for Tiffanys and an Ozzy Osbourne album cover, and presented a Japanese cable station called the ‘Okey Dokey’, before being talent spotted by photographer Corinne Day on Portobello Road, London at 13. Her career took hold more prominently at the age of 19 when Mario Testino began to work with her. Ross models regularly for every major fashion magazine, and was invited to act as guest editor of British Vogue in 2004. She has been the face of Emmanuel Ungaro’s fragrance ‘Desnuda’, the Guerlain cosmetics house and fashion house Jil Sander. She has headed campaigns for Jimmy Choo, Christian Dior, Jitrois, and Garrard. She was The Face magazine’s 20th anniversary cover.
