A TV trailer for UK's Channel 4 asking for men to take part in a TV show called Lapdance Island has been revealed as a hoax. Up to 20,000 people applied to take part in Lapdance Island, a fictitious show that called for 10 men to be stranded with 40 lapdancers, with the task of keeping their hands off. But the saucy trailer, and the application website, are part of an elaborate advertising campaign to promote The Pilot Show on Channel 4's pay-TV channel E4. The Pilot Show, which launches on 8 September, sets up the public and celebrities to take part in wacky recordings and auditions for fake TV shows, believing they are experimental runs for the real thing. Another fake pilot called the Spaceman promised to transport one lucky contestant to the moon. Full article here.
