Up to now, the Park Hotel was a standard 3-star hotel. On April 2nd, however, it will become the Hotel Fox. The hotel has been transformed by 20 street artists, graphic designers and illustrators. Each of the 61 rooms has a unique installation; the works have been commissioned by Die Gestalten Verlag, the Berlin-based design book publisher. For Robert Klanten, head of publishing, the criteria were clear: "We wanted to put together a group of modern, contemporary graphic designers and illustrators, outstanding and innovative in their fields, whose work is playful, positive, catchy and funky." There's still one room left, check out the floor plan [pdf] and send in your ideas. Incidentally the project is sponsored by Volkswagen, and named after their new car the fox. They've also put together a nice video explaining it all. [mov]
