Russell Simmons is scheduled to release "Russell Simmons Presents Yoga Live", a Hip-Hop/Yoga video series next month. Yoga Live includes a series of four videos that features original Hip-Hop music and advertises weight loss, flexibility, relaxation and toning through yoga. The first series will retail for $40. While Russell doesn't physically appear in the videos, he is featured in infomercials scheduled to begin airing in early April. The four-part series includes, "Beginner Basics," "Power Flow for Accelerated Weight Loss," "Total Body Toning and Flexibility" and "Core Strength for Abs." Though yoga and Hip-Hop seem like polar opposites at first sight, Russ is hoping that the two will eventually become intertwined with one another. "When I think of 50 Cent I think of the high notes. I think of the goodness in all of them. When he sees me he thinks of yoga. Puffy's been here [yoga class], and a bunch of rappers. It's not full of rappers yet, but we're hopeful," Simmons revealed. "It affects what everybody raps about. I bring Nation of Islam guys here and a bunch of people from the foundation. All their rap changes for the better." Simmons also hopes that his recognizable name will help the ancient practice and his video series draw mainstream attention. "The fact that I'm presenting it makes it different," Simmons offered. "We're playing cooler music and have cool instructors, and it retains all the integrity of this 5,000-year-old practice." via. SOHH BIG
