UK graffiti artist INSA, in association with The Pigeon Consortium, is pleased to announce a one-off exhibition of his most recent non-graf projects at the tip-top shop Best in Farringdon. More pictures here. The exhibition will include INSA’s collection of customised women’s high-heeled shoes, as well as other projects in his now notorious high heeled series of work.

With over 12 prolific years under his belt, INSA is one of the UK’s most innovative and respected graffiti writers. Having made his name as a prolific and gifted technician of spray can art, INSA has more recently become known for his distinction “high heel” image.

As the artist explains: “It comes from ideas I have about graffiti being a fetish and the obsession I have with the four letters I N S A - constantly dressing them up and drawing their curves. So to represent these ideas I have replaced them with a more traditional fetishised object, the high heel, and played around with it like I would my letters.”

This exhibition, the culmination of INSA’s non-graffiti projects will represent the unofficial start to INSA’s “Locals Only” UK Tour, a five date exhibition tour aiming to take the artist’s awesome spray can art to often neglected graffiti scenes around the UK. The exhibition opens with a press preview and opening party on Thursday 12th May and runs until June 16th at Best, Back Hill Farringdon.
