The airing of a ten-year-old tape made by a juvenile and artistically challenged Eminem has caused some serious questions to be asked about raps' torrid inconsistencies. Just in case you've been on an island for the past few weeks, click on the first URL. The second is a dis track by Em, supposedly released on the net without his knowledge. Em's apology and claims of misplaced adolescent frustration (3rd URL), seem to have met with some understanding from some, including Russell Simmons, only for Benzino and Source co-owner David Mays to take a side swipe at him and his HSAN organisation (4th URL). They probably forgot that in such cases you should always watch out for your own skeletons, in this case a white MC signed to Benz's own label, who has an interesting story about his ex-boss (5th URL). This hypocrisy coupled with Benzino's own defamation of females in some of his previous releases has people not only questioning his true motives and jealousies, but once again his use of The Source to do so. And the racist bigotry exhibited to Em and its broader repercussions, exposed by Benzino's can of worms could seriously come back to haunt both of them outside of the rap fraternity, this makes the last URL a MOST read. And that's why I love hip hop and aspects of the Black community in America, because there's always someone willing to step up and be counted when necessary, unlike people in the UK constantly watching everyone else.
