[I’m Not An Artist](http://www.iamnotanartist.org/index.php?ref=protein.xyz) is a new online community that lets people upload and share animated GIFs. The site started as a commission by the [Elisava School of Design](http://tdd.elisava.net/?ref=protein.xyz) with 56 GIFs directed by founders Johnny Kelly and Matthew Cooper. The aim of the project is to serve as a platform for contributing designers, with the site featuring links to further examples of work by young designers, downloadable screensavers and even an easy-to-use GIF generator.

When we opened our[ Animate Everything](http://prote.in/feed/2011/07/animate-everything?ref=protein.xyz) GIF exhibition, which is currently showing in our 18 Hewett Street Gallery space, we were excited by the opportunity to give this often over looked medium a public platform. Now, thanks to websites such as I’m Not An Artist, GIFs now also have an online platform too.
