The small wristband called ‘Up’ is a hardware and a software system that tracks eating, sleeping and movements in order to generate an informative reading of health. It works with wireless smartphone connections to deliver up-to-date data and feedback based on its monitoring system. This collected information feeds into the accompanying app that is downloadable for free. As the gadget works in real-time, it may prove to be an effective way of tracking changes in health quickly. However, Jawbone clarify that this is not a sickness-prevention tool, rather an informative gadget that encourages you to improve your health. This is a step forward in tackling unhealthy lifestyle issues as well as a helpful tool for an increasingly health-conscious society.
