Google & Volkswagen are working together to develop a new [in-car navigation system](http://www.automotoportal.com/article/Volkswagen%5Fand%5FGoogle%5Fdevelop%5Frevolutionary%5Fnavigation%5Fsystem?ref=protein.xyz), which uses google earth data & satellite imagery along with information from the google local service. If this comes to market, its going to blow away the current generation of satellite navigation services.
