Sean Cooper of Concord, California has apparently received permission from the state to drive his [Gyrocopter](http://www.kenbrockmfg.com/gyros.htm?ref=protein.xyz) the few blocks from his home to a nearby airport and then flying it to San Jose (roughly 50 miles). Nice. Responding to the legal precedent, a Dutch company called [Spark Design](http://www.sparkdesign.nl/actueel/20041013palv/20041013press.html?ref=protein.xyz) is developing the PALV (prototype illustration pictured), a similar vehicle that can reach 120 mph and fly at an altitude of 4000 feet. \[Product Dose\]
