Last week [we featured the animated 'glitch' art](http://prote.in/feed/2012/02/bus-tops-project?ref=protein.xyz) that's made its way on to the tops of bus shelters across London. Now we're seeing a similar digital aesthetic appear in an even more tangible form: textiles. Designer [Phillip Stearns](http://phillipstearns.wordpress.com/?ref=protein.xyz) has created woven blankets that feature patterns sourced from short-circuited Kodak cameras. Or as the designer himself explains: 'The cold logic of digital systems is fashioned into a warm blanket.'

The seamlessness of today's technology has prompted some observers to suggest that we're now 'post-digital': technology is now invisible and we should focus on using it creatively. So it's interesting to see the moment of software failure – or 'glitch' – chosen as an aesthetic in a very craft-driven medium.
