# Garden of Russolo

The [Garden of Russolo](http://yurisuzuki.com/works/garden-of-russolo/?ref=protein.xyz) was an interactive sound installation by [Yuri Suzuki](https://www.prote.in/en/profiles/yuri-suzuki?ref=protein.xyz) commissioned by the [Victoria and Albert Museum](http://www.vam.ac.uk/?ref=protein.xyz) and [ICN gallery](http://www.icn-global.com/?ref=protein.xyz), a sonic experience that distorted users' voices and showed at the V&A museum during the 2013 London Design Festival in September.  
  
The auditory installation is based on the artist’s previous sound-activated work [White Noise Machines](http://yurisuzuki.com/works/white-noise-machine/?ref=protein.xyz). A series of phonograph-like wooden boxes compose the exhibition, re-interpreting audio input into a muffled atmospheric output, twisting and amplifying the original soundtracks. Suzuki was influenced by one of the first experimental composer of all time, the futurist painter and composer Luigi Russolo (1883 - 1947).
