# DIY Furniture

Vincent Tarisien is the French design student behind [Timber](http://www.domusweb.it/en/design/2013/07/22/vincent%5Ftarisien.html?ref=protein.xyz#fb2), a playful furniture range made solely from bio resin and wood. Designed to be assembled at home, each piece in the collection is entirely customisable and comes neatly packaged in a cardboard cylinder. Once the wooden frame has been assembled, a resin is poured over the mould, which sets in just a few minutes.   
  
Offering buyers control over the final look of the product by letting them dictate the colour and look of each panel, Tarisien aims to provide “a certain freedom and self-expression”, comparing the process to a cooking recipe in which “each ingredient needs to be combined in a blend”.   
  
These stripped down and elegant designs offer an unusual and inventive approach to furniture design and respond to the resurgence of interest in all things DIY, as seen with projects such as [Not Tom](http://not-tom.com/?ref=protein.xyz)’s [Strung](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/07/strung-by-not-tom--2?ref=protein.xyz).
