The R&D arm of design and advertising powerhouse [Acne](http://www.acne.se/?ref=protein.xyz)has just announced the launch of its new digital art exhibition system; Curater. Using a high-definition, ultra-thin LED canvas, Curater streams carefully curated artworks to canvas owners who can then control their canvases using smartphones, tablets or computers.

If you’re thinking you can display digital art perfectly well on your TV or computer, Acne claims they’ve created a product that can surpass what any of these screens can do. Taking on a subscription model, Curater is a service which will be available to users for a monthly fee.

The kind of art that will be available to stream is still to be confirmed. Weegee’s *Piggy Marilyn* photograph from 1960 is the only image to be teased, but Acne will be teaming up with various leading art institutions (also still to be confirmed) to deliver six to eight different exhibitions a year.

The ways we can display art are rapidly changing with advances in super sharp screen technology. And with the emergence of other platforms like [Electric Object’s EO1](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2014/07/electric-objects-eo1?ref=protein.xyz), expect perfectly framed, high quality digital art to become more common.
