The rules of publishing are changing. Magazines are an art form unto themselves. They don’t have to be printed, or distributed, they [don’t even have to be magazines](https://www.prote.in/en/profiles/rachel-shechtman-story?ref=protein.xyz) at all. [Artomatic](http://www.artomatic.co.uk/?ref=protein.xyz) has created *[CONTAINER](http://www.containerwebsite.com/?ref=protein.xyz),* a magazine in concept if not in traditional execution. *CONTAINER* is a thematic collection of objects produced specially by contributors for that particular 'issue'. For the debut issue, Atromatic asked artists Nic Roope ([Poke](http://www.pokelondon.com/?ref=protein.xyz)), [James Bridle](http://shorttermmemoryloss.com/?ref=protein.xyz), [Daniel Eatock](http://eatock.com/?ref=protein.xyz), [Accept and Proceed](http://www.acceptandproceed.com/?ref=protein.xyz), among others, to create objects that dealt with the theme of 'hot and cold'.  
  
Packed neatly within a styrofoam box are a variety of objects that deal with the theme both literally and abstractly, including set of cards between two acrylic panels, CDs of Madonna’s *Frozen and* Frank Zappa’s *Hot Rats*, a scarf, kindling and several other items. If a magazine deals with the nature and culture of objects and ideas, *CONTAINER* does so in a tangible and artful way.
