Video chatting has still not quite reached the level of ubiquity sci-fi films of old would have had us believe. [BERG](http://berglondon.com/?ref=protein.xyz), the design studio/consultancy responsible for the [Little Printer](http://prote.in/feed/2011/11/little-printer?ref=protein.xyz), have been working with Google on exploring methods of video calling. They’ve come up with this, the standalone Connbox.

Displaying two screens, the device connects directly to another over wi-fi, with the option to blur your image or ‘mute’ it altogether by drawing a curtain over it. The Connbox is just at prototype stage, but is more about opening up space, and connecting space, than serving as a functional, portable, replacement to your video phone.
