Did you know that white is the preferred colour when decorating both the bedroom and the kitchen? That is if we are to believe the statistics extracted from [Pinterest](http://pinterest.com/?ref=protein.xyz) by Danish designers [Peter Ørntoft](http://www.peterorntoft.com/?ref=protein.xyz) and [Mie Frey Damgaard](http://www.miefrey.dk/?ref=protein.xyz) for a data visualisation project in collaboration with Turkish decorative paint brand [Jotun](http://www.jotun.com/?ref=protein.xyz).

‘Colour and Space’ explores how colour preferences might vary for different rooms of the home, illustrating a different take on how Pinterest can be used to create branded content.

Jotun is only one of [a string of big brands](http://mashable.com/2012/03/23/pinterest-marketing-campaigns/?ref=protein.xyz) that have realized the potential of Pinterest recently; [ASOS](http://www.prote.in/feed/2012/11/best-night-ever?ref=protein.xyz) did a campaign letting people pin video ads whilst [Uniqlo](http://www.uniqlo.com/uk/?ref=protein.xyz) used a more controversial tactic by hacking the social media platform.
