The hope that one day humans will have the power to control the weather has existed since there have been humans and weather. And from the looks of this project from artist [Karolina Sobecka](http://www.gravitytrap.com/?ref=protein.xyz), we're slowly getting there. Like a larger scale version of this [indoor cloud installation](http://designyoutrust.com/2012/02/cloud-inside-room-yes-art-of-berndnaut-smilde/?ref=protein.xyz), the device is hoisted into the atmosphere by a weather balloon where it generates a functioning cloud out of water particles.

As well as just being a nice idea, the cloud serve the dual purpose of helping with geo-engineering by being more reflective than natural clouds, it also shields the Earth from the Sun's more harmful rays.
