[Cinemetrics](http://cinemetrics.fredericbrodbeck.de/?ref=protein.xyz) is a piece of data-visualisation software that breaks films down into various key elements, such as colour, speech or motion and places in a readable visual fingerprint.

The software was created by [Frederic Brodbeck](http://www.fredericbrodbeck.de/?ref=protein.xyz) for his bachelor graduation project at the [Royal Academy of Arts](http://www.royalacademy.org.uk/?ref=protein.xyz), and enables people to compare key elements of different films.

Alongside the animated date Brodbeck also produced a series of film posters and a book, which cover the project's development and progress, every step of the way, all produced in the designer’s slick style.

Last month we wrote about [TK Type](http://prote.in/feed/2011/07/chartwell-type?ref=protein.xyz)’s Chartwell Type, which lets people create their own pie charts and graphs. It would seem that info-graphics art is on the rise and if these new beautiful designs are anything to go by we hope to see a lot more in the coming year.
