Following his [earlier application](http://feed.proteinos.com/item/2443?ref=protein.xyz), the USPTO has [denied Stuart Newman](http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2005/02/13/us%5Fdenies%5Fpatent%5Ffor%5Fpart%5Fhuman%5Fhybrid/?ref=protein.xyz) a patent for a process to make chimeras. Ironically, Mr. Newman is pleased his patent did not succeed.
