**The New Museum’s art and technology incubator celebrates its inaugural class**  
  
From the 10th of July at [Red Bull Studios New York](http://redbullstudiosnewyork.com/?ref=protein.xyz) you can catch the work of New Inc members such as [Emilie Baltz](http://www.emiliebaltz.com/?ref=protein.xyz), [REIFY](http://www.reify.nyc/?ref=protein.xyz), and [Newhive](https://newhive.com/?ref=protein.xyz) with projects that investigate new forms of visual and musical expression. On July 14 there'll be a Demo Day in which members present their start-ups and key projects, followed by an interactive showcase of collaborative projects.   
  
Among the many projects showcased is Erica Gorochow, of creative studio [PepRally](http://peprally.co/work/?ref=protein.xyz), and [Charlie Whitney](http://www.sharkbox.com/?ref=protein.xyz)[’s](http://www.sharkbox.com/?ref=protein.xyz) Specimen, a game about colour perception for the iOS platform. Players pick matching colours from a pool of swimming ‘specimens’ which become more and more difficult to differentiate. Only the most trained eyes will make it through all 6 spectrums.   
  
For the audiophiles, [Reify](http://www.reify.nyc/?ref=protein.xyz),a platform that turns sound into tangible objects, have been working to develop a tool for visualising sound through 3D printing. Reify transforms music into physical sculptures and allows viewers to play back the music from the sculpture with 360° visuals via an augmented reality mobile app.  
  
The Protein commissioned [project](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2015/06/little-dragon-take-over-the-new-museum-s-sky-room?ref=protein.xyz) with [Odd Division](http://www.newinc.org/odd-division/?ref=protein.xyz) and [Little Dragon](http://little-dragon.net/?ref=protein.xyz) created a music instrument out of Samsung mobile phones. The instrument was unveiled during a live performance on the New Museum rooftop; at the New Inc Showcase, visitors can view the instrument along with a video of the performance.   
  
And if you’re looking for a memento from the event, check out Annelie Berner’s [Airylight](http://annelieberner.com/AiryLight?ref=protein.xyz) in [The Gift Shop](http://thegiftshop.alldayeveryday.com/?ref=protein.xyz). AiryLight is a kinetic light that displays realtime local air quality data through the patterns it projects on the ceiling above.
