It seems having a lead singer who also moonlights as a computer programmer has its advantages, particularly when you're a band trying to come up with innovative ways to promote your newest song. [Preflight Nerves](http://beginnings.wearebrightly.com/?ref=protein.xyz), the latest single from Australian band [Brightly](http://wearebrightly.com/?ref=protein.xyz) is taking a couple of interesting steps in getting itself out there.   
  
Firstly, when fans download the single they're given a unique code which can be registered on their [site](http://beginnings.wearebrightly.com/map/2bY?ref=protein.xyz). This code can be shared and then its progress is tracked on a map, showing the path where others that you've shared it with have used it, thereby mapping its viral 'success'. Once ten people have shared it, the original owner can claim a free copy of the entire album, Beginnings and Endings.  
  
Much like [Vinetune](http://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/04/vinetune?ref=protein.xyz), the crowdsourced music video we looked at last week, Brightly's [video](http://tweetflight.wearebrightly.com/?ref=protein.xyz) for the single uses API searches of tweets and matches them up to the song lyrics to create a accompanying tweet stream that's unique with every play.
