Just when you thought you had got your head around [RSS](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS?ref=protein.xyz) and [OPML](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OPML?ref=protein.xyz), along comes [APML](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APML?ref=protein.xyz). A new markup language which “allows people to share their own personal Attention Profile in much the same way that OPML allows the exchange of reading lists between News Readers. The idea behind APML is to compress all forms of Attention Data into a portable file format containing a description of your rated interests.”

What does that mean to you and I? It means you can now create a [personal profile of your media interests](http://www.apml.org/?ref=protein.xyz) that cuts through all the crap when searching, reading and/or blogging in the increasing over populated online world.
