Crowdsourcing has been used to fund campaigns, new technologies and even [beer](https://www.prote.in/en/feed/2013/06/mashtag?ref=protein.xyz), but crowdsourcing and high-fashion are not terms that go together often, if ever. Designer [Alexander Wang](http://www.alexanderwang.com/?ref=protein.xyz) is changing that with the “Alexander Wang Wallie” gym sack — the first crowd sourced high-fashion accessory, created in collaboration with Samsung. Although the “crowd” mostly included Alexander Wang’s friends, stylists, and photographers such as Simon Doonan, Sally Singer, Craig McDean, and Heather Hughes, it is certainly a new foray into the world of crowdsourcing from the fashion maven.   
  
The limited-edition bag was created by mashing photos, sketch doodles, and images created on the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The result is a “collectively inspired” drawstring lambskin backpack in black and gray print on leather. According to Wang, “the abstract print really captures the energy of New York City. This collaboration is a great example of how technology and style can come together in an unexpected but really meaningful way.”   
  
Released yesterday to key markets around the world and online, The Wallie retails for $550 USD with profits going towards raising funds for [Art Start](http://art-start.org/?ref=protein.xyz), a charity that uses the arts to nurture the creative talents of “at-risk” children and youth. I
