A stand out exhibition at Milan Design Week was that of London-based writer and critic [Beatrice Galilee](http:// www.beatricegalilee.com/) with [Afrofuture](http://www.afrofuture.it/?ref=protein.xyz), at the city’s Piazza del Duomo.   
  
Aiming to explore the past, present and emergent future of design, architecture, art, music and politics across the continent, the exhibition is a vibrant and interactive collection, showcasing Africa’s new wave of design and technology talent. The exhibition is a gentle assault on the senses, and allows visitors to be as interactive as they want; adorning the windows of [La Rinascente](http://www.rinascente.it/?ref=protein.xyz) department store are three-dimensional panels inspired by covers of the ‘African pulp fiction’ magazine [Jungle Jim](http://www.junglejim.org/?ref=protein.xyz), whilst inside visitors are able to illustrate their own Jungle Jim story; a carpentry workshop shows the ‘fantasy coffins’ of Ghana – bespoke creations resembling objects such as shoes, fish and cars; a photo-documentary series looks back at Zambia’s unsuccessful attempt to launch a space programme in the ‘60’s; and a live Congolese band perform music fromtheir mobile phones.
