Diverging [once again](http://www.prote.in/feed/2012/05/leather-forever?ref=protein.xyz) from their somewhat stuffy heritage, Paris-based luxury label [Hermés](http://www.hermes.com/index%5Fus.html?ref=protein.xyz) has entered the ever-contracting space between fashion and technology with [8 Ties](http://lesailes.hermes.com/us/en/ties?ref=protein.xyz), an interactive digital art project.

Designed by [Miguel Chevalier](http://www.miguel-chevalier.com/fr/index.html?ref=protein.xyz) and scored by <Jacopo Baboni Schilingi>, the project exists as a traveling A/V installation and also as a [ shop-able interactive microsite](http://lesailes.hermes.com/us/en/ties?&xtor=AL-8073&ref=protein.xyz) with users able to purchase all the ties seen. Both feature the 8-bit inspired patterns used in Hermés' new line of ties.

There's no shortage of fashion brands leaning on digital these days (see [ASOS](http://www.prote.in/feed/2012/11/best-night-ever?ref=protein.xyz), [Alexander McQueen](http://www.prote.in/feed/2012/07/alexander-mcqueen-a-w-2012?ref=protein.xyz)) but it's always nice to see the combination done well.
